What is the event like?

We want to create the grown-up queer summer camp of your dreams. A place to have fun, make new friends, learn some new skills, and relax in the mountains. You can treat this event however you would like. If you want to party it up - we’ll have nightly entertainment with DJs and dance parties. If you’d like to keep things more chill - then explore the hiking trails and gather around the campfire. Interested in just skating as much as possible - the skate areas are open 24/7 and an absolute dream. Want to ride as much as possible - we’ll have group rides and suggested other things to check out in the area.

There will be classes and workshops during the day, group motorcycle rides, field day games, motorcycle games, an organized river float, and much much more. Do as much or as little as you’d like and choose your own adventure!

What is the camping like?

There is plenty of space to tent, car, or hammock camp. We’ll have cars and motorcycles separated for safety reasons, but there is ample room to set up and hang out. You should treat this as a true camping experience - there will be showers, drinkable water, and flush toilets, but bring everything you will need to set up. Find a list of what we recommend here.

We will go over this during check in and announcements as well, but everyone should be “bear aware” and disposing of any trash & food scraps properly. We are in nature and there are black bears around. We should be making enough noise that they won’t bother us, but we all need to do our part to keep ourselves and the wildlife safe. If you have a car with you, please store any food inside, or inside a properly sealed cooler.

What are the cabins like?

Each cabin sleeps 4 comfortably with one queen bed and two twin beds and has a mini fridge, microwave, mini-split with heat and air conditioning, and a private bathroom with a flush toilet, hot water shower and sink, and you can split it with friends however you would like.
You need to provide your own sheets, pillows, towels and toiletries when staying in the cabins as these are not included.

There is one ADA cabin available that has a queen bed and one twin bed, please contact us at info@queermotoclub.com to request this cabin.

FAQ’s

What happens if it rains? This event is rain or shine, and while we have our fingers crossed for gorgeous weather, you never quite know what’s going to happen in the mountains. We have some backup indoor activities planned if needed in the mess hall, and the indoor bowl and ramp are a great covered spot to skate and hangout no mater what the weather ends up being!

Do you sell day passes, or can I get a discount for staying offsite? No, tickets are for the entire weekend and required for entry no matter how long you will be there. Camping for the weekend is included for free with every ticket. You are welcome to stay off-site if you prefer but your ticket price will be the same.

Can I bring an RV, Trailer, or Toy Hauler? You are welcome to bring your RV, Camper van, or Toy Hauler. Due to the extra space these require in the camping area, there is an additional $50 charge for any vehicle or vehicle/trailer combo over 18 ft long.vRVs and camper vans must be self-contained. There are no electric or water hookups, or dump stations on-site.

Will there be bathrooms & showers? Yes! There are flush toilets and showers, and there will be additional port-a-potties around the property as well.

Can I buy an admission ticket at the gate? No, you must buy a ticket prior to the event online. There are no admission tickets sold at the gate. Ticket sales end on Sunday Aug 4th.

Will I get a refund if I can no longer attend? Unfortunately tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer your ticket to someone else if you’d like through the ticket booking site. There is also the option to insure your ticket when purchased - this will refund you in the case that you can no longer attend for any of their covered reasons. Ticket transfers end on Sunday Aug 4th.

Can I arrive early or stay later than the event? This is a private property we are renting out that isn’t open to the public, so unfortunately we can’t have anyone arrive earlier than the gate opening time on Thursday Aug 8th or stay beyond check-out time on Sunday August 11th unless they are working the event. There are plenty of camping options and Airbnb rentals nearby though if you’d like to extend your trip!

Will I have a specific camping spot assigned to me? The camp area is first come, first serve, but you are guaranteed a space. Motorcycle camping will be in a separate area from car camping for safety reasons, but there are plenty of great options available for everyone.

Are there cabins available? Yes, cabins are sold out at this point, but if you’d like to stay in a cabin, there are people looking to share their cabin space on the Wild Wheels Discord! Go check it out and post that you’re looking for a bed in a booked cabin.

What are the food & drink options? We will have Mia’s Big Mouth with us all day Thursday & Friday, and Globowl with us all day Saturday. You can check out the menus and get other info for food and local grocery stores here. We are encouraging folks to bring their own food & drinks and treat this as a real weekend of camping - especially if you have any strict food allergies or requirements. There are well stocked grocery stores in town less than 15 minutes away. But we will also have food available for purchase at the event if you don’t want to deal with making your own. Plan to bring cash for this as there is no wifi and cell service can be unreliable.

What kinds of motorcycles are allowed? All street legal 2 or 3 wheeled motos are allowed. Anything that is tagged/registered and legal to ride on the road is good! You can bring your dirt bike if you’d like, but at this point the property owner isn’t allowing anyone to take motorized vehicles on the trails, so there wouldn’t be much you could use them for except getting around the property or competing in the moto games.

I don't skate or ride motorcycles - can I still join? Sure! There are plenty of activities throughout the event that don’t require you to be a skater or rider - and if you’d like to learn either of these skills, there will be opportunities for that as well!

I’m not queer, can I still attend? Yes, allies are very welcome!

Are pets or children allowed? This event is strictly 21+ No Pets, except for Service Animals communicated in advance with organizers and camp owner

What is NOT allowed at this event? Mini bikes, weapons, discriminatory flags or banners, fireworks, pets, kids, a bad attitude, no skate wax or bmx bike pegs, no smoking indoors (and make sure to pick up any cigarette butts!) and please avoid bringing any glass items

What is allowed in the skate areas? Quad skates, inline skates, skateboards, and bmx bikes (no pegs) are all allowed in the outdoor and indoor skating areas. There are also trails for non-motorized bikes through the woods of the property and a dirt jump area for BMX bikes as well.

NO motorized vehicles of any kind are allowed in any of the skating areas or on the BMX dirt trails or BMX dirt jumps. We know, this might be a bummer - but motorized bikes will tear up the trails and dirt jumps they’ve worked so hard to build and this also becomes a liability for the owner of the incredible property. Please resist the urge to take your motorcycle in the off-limits areas of camp!

Refusal of entry & zero tolerance policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech or violence whatsoever. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, bigotry, and aggressive or condescending behavior towards anyone is not allowed. We reserve the right to refuse entry, service, or remove someone from the event should they be aggressive, threatening, or harassing to any other attendee or staff member. This is a private event and the safety and well being of our guests and staff is top priority. If you feel unsafe or are being harassed please report it immediately to a staff member or volunteer.
